Glacier Church Statement of Faith

I. The Scriptures

We believe that the Holy Bible was written by divinely inspired men and serves as a perfect source of heavenly guidance. It has God as its author, salvation as its ultimate purpose, and contains truth without error. The Bible reveals the principles by which God will judge humanity. Therefore, it is, and will remain until the end of the world, the true center of Christian unity and the highest standard by which all human actions, beliefs, and opinions should be evaluated.

Num 23:19; Deut 4:1-2; Ps 19:7-10; Ps 119:89; Prov 30:5-6; Isa 40:8; Matt 5:17-18; Luke 21:33; Luke 24:44-46; John 5:39; John 17:17; Rom 2:12; Rom 15:4; 2 Tim 3:15-17; Heb 1:1-2; Heb 4:12; 1 Pet 1:25; 2 Pet 1:19-21; 1 John 4:1

II. God

We believe in one living and true God, a limitless and intelligent Spirit. JEHOVAH is His name. He is the Creator and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. He is extraordinarily glorious in holiness and deserving of all honor, trust, and love. Within the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are equal in every divine perfection and carry out distinct yet harmonious roles in the work of redemption.

Ex 15:11; Deut 6:4-5; Ps 83:18; Ps 147:5; Isa 6:3; Jer 10:10; Matt 10:37; Matt 28:19; Mark 12:30; John 4:24; John 5:17; John 10:30; John 14:23; John 15:26; John 17:5,10; Acts 5:3-4; Rom 1:20; 1 Cor 2:10-11; 1 Cor 12:4-6; 2 Cor 13:14; Eph 2:18; Phil 2:5-7; Heb 3:4; 1 Pet 1:15-16; Rev 1:4-5, Rev 4:6-8

III. The Fall Of Man

We believe that God created mankind in His own image as a special part of His creation. He made them male and female as the highest expression of His work, and gender is a gift from God.

At first, people were created holy and lived under God’s law. However, they chose to sin and fell from their perfect and happy state. Because of this, all people are now sinners—not because they are forced to be, but by their own choice. By nature, we lack the holiness God requires and are drawn toward sin. As a result, we are justly condemned and without excuse before God.

Gen 1:27,31; Gen 2:16-17; Gen 3:6-24; Gen 6:12; Ps 51:5; Eccl 7:29; Isa 53:6; Ezek 18:19-20; Matt 20:15; Rom 1:18,20,32; Rom 2:1-16; Rom 3:9-19,23; Rom 5:12,15-19; Rom 8:7; Gal 3:2,10; Eph 2:1-3

IV. The Way Of Salvation

We believe that sinners are saved completely by God’s grace. Salvation comes through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was sent by the Father. He willingly took on human nature—but without sin—obeyed God’s law perfectly and gave His life to fully pay for our sins. After rising from the dead, He ascended to heaven, where He reigns. Jesus is the perfect Savior—compassionate, powerful, and completely able to save.

Ps 34:1-22; Isa 42:21; Isa 53:4-5; Matt 20:28; John 1:1-5,9-14; John 3:16; Rom 3:21-26; Rom 4:25; 1 Cor 3:5-7; 1 Cor 15:1-4; 2 Cor 5:21; Gal 4:4-5; Eph 2:1-6; Phil 2:8-9; Col 3:1-4; Heb 1:3; Heb 4:14; Heb 7:25-26; Heb 9:13-15; Heb 12:24; 1 John 2:3; 1 John 4:10

V. Justification

We believe that one of the greatest blessings of the Gospel is justification, which Christ gives to all who believe in Him. Justification means that our sins are forgiven, and we receive the promise of eternal life based on righteousness. It is not given because of anything we have done but only through faith in Jesus and His sacrifice. Through this faith, God freely gives us Christ’s perfect righteousness. Justification brings us into peace and favor with God and guarantees every blessing we need for this life and eternity.

Isa 53:11-12; Zech 13:1; Matt 6:33; Matt 9:6; John 1:16; Acts 10:43; Acts 13:39; Rom 3:24-26; Rom 4:4-5,23-25; Rom 5; Rom 6:23; 1 Cor 1:30-31; 2 Cor 5:21; Eph 3:8; Phil 3:7-9; 1 Tim 4:8; Titus 3:5-7; 1 Pet 3:7; 1 John 2:12,25

VI. The Freeness Of Salvation

We believe that the blessings of salvation are freely offered to everyone through the Gospel. It is every person’s responsibility to accept them with sincere, repentant, and obedient faith. The only thing that prevents even the worst sinner from being saved is their own sinful nature and their choice to reject the Gospel. By rejecting it, they bring upon themselves condemnation.

Prov 1:24; Isa 55:1-3; Matt 11:20; Matt 23:37; Mark 1:15; Luke 10:27; John 3:16-19; John 5:39-40; Acts 13:46; Rom 1:15-17; Rom 9:32; Rom 16:25-26; Eph 2:8-9; 2 Thess 1:8; Rev 22:17

VII. New Nature (Regeneration)

We believe that to be saved, sinful people must be born again through spiritual renewal (regeneration). This transformation gives a person a new and holy mindset. It happens by the power of the Holy Spirit, working through God’s truth, in a way beyond our understanding. This change leads to a willing obedience to the Gospel. The true evidence of being born again is seen in a life marked by repentance, faith, and a renewed way of living.

Deut 30:6; Ezek 36:26; Matt 3:8-10; Matt 7:15-20; John 1:12-13; John 3:3-8; Rom 2:28-29; Rom 5:5; Rom 8:9-11; 1 Cor 1:30; 2 Cor 5:17; Gal 5:16-23; Eph 2:1-10; Eph 3:14-21; Eph 4:20-24; Eph 5:9; Phil 2:13; Col 3:9-11; Titus 3:5; Jas 1:16-18; 1 Pet 1:22-25; 1 John 4:7; 1 John 5:1,4,18; Rev 21:27

VIII. Repentance And Faith

We believe that repentance and faith are both sacred duties and gifts from God. Repentance and faith are accomplished in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit, we become deeply aware of our sin, our need for salvation, and the way to be saved through Christ. In repentance, we sincerely turn to God with sorrow for our sins, confessing them and seeking His mercy. At the same time, in faith, we fully accept Jesus as our Prophet, Priest, and King, trusting in Him alone as our all-sufficient Savior.

Ps 2:6; Ps 51:1-19; Mark 1:14-15; Luke 15:18-21; Luke 18:13; John 16:7-8; Acts 2:37-38; Acts 3:22-23; Acts 11:18; Acts 16:30-31; Rom 10:9-11; 1 Cor 10:12-13; 2 Cor 7:11; Eph 2:8; 2 Tim 1:12; Heb 1:8; Heb 4:14; Heb 7:25; James 4:7-10; 1 John 5:1

IX. God’s Purpose Of Grace

We believe that grace is how God regenerates, sanctifies, and saves sinners. Biblical election does not violate the free will of mankind. His grace is a glorious display of God's sovereign goodness—completely free, wise, holy, and unchanging.

Grace leaves no room for boasting and instead fosters humility, love, prayer, praise, trust in God, and a desire to imitate His mercy. It strongly encourages the use of available means to grow in faith. Its effects can be seen in those who truly believe the Gospel, making it the foundation of Christian assurance. Because of this, examining our own faith requires and deserves our utmost diligence.

Ex 33:18-19; Isa 42:16; Jer 31:3; Matt 20:15-16; Luke 18:7; John 6:37-40; John 10:16; John 15:16; Acts 1:24; Acts 13:48; Acts 15:14; Rom 3:27; Rom 4:16; Rom 8:28-30; Rom 9:23-24; Rom 11:5-6,28-29,32-36; 1 Cor 1:26-31; 1 Cor 3:5-7; 1 Cor 9:22; 1 Cor 15:10; Eph 1:3-14; Phil 3:12; Col 3:12; 1 Thess 1:4-10; 1 Thess 2:12-13; 2 Thess 2:13-14; 2 Tim 1:8-9; 2 Tim 2:10; Heb 6:11; Jas 1:17-18; 1 Pet 1:1-2; 1 Pet 2:9; 1 Pet 5:10; 2 Pet 1:10-11; 1 John 4:19

X. Sanctification

Sanctification is the process of believers becoming more like Jesus according to God's will. It is a lifelong journey that begins with regeneration and continues in believers' hearts through the Holy Spirit’s presence and power. This growth happens through God-given means, especially the Bible, self-examination, self-denial, vigilance, and prayer.

Prov 4:18; Matt 26:41; Luke 9:23; Luke 11:35; John 3:6; Rom 8:5; 2 Cor 3:18; 2 Cor 7:1; 2 Cor 13:5,10; Eph 1:4,13-14; Eph 4:11-12,30; Eph 6:18; Phil 1:9-11; Phil 2:12-13; Phil 3:12-16; 1 Thess 4:3; 1 Thess 5:23; Heb 6:1; 1 Pet 2:2; 2 Pet 1:5-8; 2 Pet 3:18; 1 John 2:29

XI. Perseverance Of Saints

We believe that true believers are those whose faith endures to the end. Their lasting commitment to Christ shows they are genuine believers, not just outward followers. God’s special care protects them, and His power keeps their salvation secure through faith.

2 Kgs 6:16; Job 17:9; Ps 91:11-12; Ps 121:3; Jer 32:40; Matt 6:30-33; Matt 13:20-21; John 6:66-69; John 8:31; John 13:18; Rom 8:28; Phil 1:6; Phil 2:13; Heb 1:14; Heb 13:5; 1 John 2:19; 1 John 2:27-28; 1 John 3:9; 1 John 4:4; 1 John 5:18; Jude 24:25

XII. The Church

We believe that a visible church is an autonomous local group of baptized believers joined together by a covenant of faith in the Gospel. They follow Christ’s teachings, live under His authority, and use the gifts and responsibilities given by His Word. The church’s biblical leaders are Elders (Pastors). Their role and qualifications are outlined in the letters to Timothy and Titus. While both men and women are gifted to serve, the role of an Elder (Pastor) is reserved for qualified men according to Scripture.

Matt 18:15-20; Matt 28:20; John 14:15; John 15:12; Acts 2:41-42,47; Acts 5:11; Acts 8:1; Acts 11:21-23; Acts 14:23; Acts 15:22; Rom 16:17-20; 1 Cor 1:1-3; 1 Cor 4:17; 1 Cor 5:6,12-13; 1 Cor 11:2,23-24; 1 Cor 14:12,23; 2 Cor 2:17; 2 Cor 8:5; Gal 6:2; Eph 4:7; Phil 1:1; 1 Thess 4:2; 2 Thess 3:6; 1 Tim 3; Titus 1; 1 John 4:21; John 14:21; 2 John 6

XIII. Baptism

We believe that Christian baptism is an ordinance in which a believer is immersed in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It symbolizes our faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, our death to sin, and our new life in Him. Baptism is required before becoming a member of the church.

Matt 3:5-6; Matt 28:19-20; Mark 16:16; John 3:22-23; Acts 2:38,41-42; Acts 8:12,36-39; Acts 10:47-48; Acts 16:32-34; Acts 18:8; Acts 22:16; Rom 6:4; Col 2:12

XIV. The Lord’s Supper

We believe that the Lord’s Supper is an ordinance where believers gather to remember and proclaim the death of Christ until He returns. By sharing the bread and cup, we remember His broken body and His shed blood, and we honor His sacrificial love. Before participating, believers should examine themselves.

Matt 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Cor 11:17-34

XV. The Family

God created the family as the foundation of society. A family is made up of people connected by marriage, birth, or adoption. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between one biological man and one biological woman. Marriage reflects the relationship between Christ and the church and provides an appropriate context for intimate companionship. Husbands and wives are equal in value before God, though they have different roles according to Scripture. Children are a gift from God. The Lord determines and aligns gender with biological sex at birth. Parents are to raise their children according to biblical truth, and children are to honor and obey their parents.

XVI. The World To Come

We believe that the end of the world is approaching. Christ will descend from heaven and raise the dead from the grave to final judgement. A solemn separation will then take place. The unforgiven will be placed into eternal punishment, and those who have received the righteousness of Christ will enter into eternal joy. This judgment will be the final state of mankind, in heaven or hell.
